I'm fairly horrible at anything math, this even came with a math lab and was very confusing. Formulas were also different and inconsistent
I rented this book for an online class. The teacher never posted video so I relied heavily on the content to learn the course. I am 37 and learned so much about myself. I ended up buying it for myself and my sister who has 3 adolescent kids. I highly recommend it for all people, not just parents. It has great insight, is easy to read, and is well written.
This book I bought for my daughter. She said the book was fine. The book does have a typo in it and it was a little beat up. This is why we gave it four stars. The book is much cheaper though to rent from then to buy at the school bookstore.
Good book but lacks examples. More importantly, it lacks the instructions for calculator steps to perform the functions. I had a friend that was taken the same class from different school. Her book was different and it showed the steps for properly using a graphing calculator for functions. I was very jealous.
this is a great book for learning the basics of statistics. my professor recommended it and everything is very bluntly stated, with plenty of examples, charts and step by step examples. Thanks to this book, and my professor who followed it, I ended up getting a B in statistics; considering I've failed algebra for many years, this was a huge step and I'm thankful this book was as easy to follow as it was.
Was supposed to be either new or "like-new", looked just fine, damage or signs of wear at all. Until I got to Chapter 11 in the book and realized it was missing as well as at least 1 important appendix page (for the t-distribution table, which is important for this whole unit and then some. Pretty disappointed to find out 2 months later when I need those pages.
This book really helped me learn a lot more about statistics. The only problem I have with this book is that some of the information on it was wrong and had me second guessing myself. I thought I was using the formula wrong because I wasn't coming up with the same answer in the book, I figured out that it was the book that had the wrong answer on the page. Now it wasn't a lot of problems, I can only count 3-4 of them in the whole book from different chapters. Other than that it was a good book I passed the class and I'm happy.
